Congratulations to all award winners who received an individual or prestigious perpetual trophy in 2018. We look forward to all players and volunteers returning for another successful season in 2019.

Grand Final Success

Congratulations to our 2018 Premiers! East Sydney Bulldogs had four teams make the grand finals in 2018 – well done to Under 11 Division 1 Blue, Under 12 Division 1, Under 13 Division 3 and Under 17 Division 3. Three of our teams took the flag and came home premiers, Under 11/1 Blue, Under 13/3 and Under 17/3 we are very proud of your success over the season!

Presentation Days

Join us for our annual presentation day to recognise the efforts and achievements of our players and volunteers for 2018.

Bulldogs players achieve higher honours

Just to let the broader Bulldogs family know, we have has a number of players from our club achieve higher representative honours over the last couple of weeks.

Firstly, Sam Gaden and Lachie Swaney have been selected to play in the NSW/ACT Rams U16’s. By all accounts both had a cracking series for the Swans Academy U16’s v the Giants Academy and were instrumental in the Swans taking the three match series 2-1.

This was then followed up by some amazing performances by Nicholas Anderson and Henry James who represented CIS at the State Primary School Carnival in Parkes, resulting in them both being selected for the illustrious NSW ‘Bluepups” to represent NSW at the National Primary Schools Championships in Darwin in July.

And finally this week at the State Under 15’s Secondary Schools State Carnival in Albury, Marco Rossmann and Hamish Dunstan were selected to represent the NSW ‘Bluedogs’ at the National Secondary Schools Championships in Perth in July.

I don’t think any other club would come close to having 6 players achieving State honours across three age groups anywhere in NSW.

Go the Doggies!

East Sydney Bulldogs win AFL Sydney Juniors Champion Club Award for second consecutive year

In recognition of 11 of our 14 eligible teams making the finals and the nighty Under 15’s going on to win their seventh consecutive grand final, the club has gone on to win ‘back to back’ Champion Club shields.

We look forward to a ‘threepeat’ in 2017!

East Sydney Bulldogs win AFL Sydney Juniors Champion Club Award

In recognition of 13 of our 15 teams making the finals and 3 going on to win their respective Grand Finals, the mighty Bulldogs were named as the Champion Junior club for 2015.

This the the first time in our proud history we have won this prestigious award.

We look forward to repeating this feat in 2016 and with the great bunch of players we currently have, there is no reason why we can’t do it.

Xavier Slezak to play in U15 Division 1 Grand Final

Two years ago on Grand Final Day East Sydney won the U13 Div 1 premiership. Earlier that season one of their players, Xavier Slezak, was diagnosed with leukemia. During his long stint of debilitating chemo treatment his team videoed every game they played, so that Xavier could watch the matches in hospital, where he’d make notes and give feedback to the team. That year East won the premiership, with Xavier there as a not very well, yet official assistant coach in the designated coaching area. On April 27 this year, 732 days after his diagnosis, Xavier completed his treatment and returned to playing football. And on Sunday, Xavier returns to Macquarie University for a Grand Final, this time as a player in the East Sydney U15 Div 1 team, a truly remarkable and wonderful feat. We do thank and congratulate Xavier on his courage and inspiration and also the East Sydney Football club, whose support of Xavier encapsulates the best of what there is in our game, the sense of kindred-ship and value of community we seek to foster and the life enriching experiences we enjoy from being together.

Orange Socks Day for Will Murray – 14th / 15th May 2016

East Sydney Bulldogs Under 12’s to under 17’s will be participating.

As you may be aware, Sandringham teenager Will Murray tragically sustained a life-changing injury in an accident at Black Rock in January.

A committee has been formed to assist the family to generate the significant income that will be required to cover the cost of Will’s continued care and rehabilitation. The costs associated with seeking the best outcomes and his ongoing care, for life, are very high and prohibitive without our assistance.

The committee has announced an Orange Sock Weekend across multiple sports as a fundraising & awareness initiative for Will Murray and the Murray family.

Orange Sock Day

The Will Murray Assistance Committee will be initiating an Orange Sock Weekend, to act as a key fundraising and awareness opportunity.

The committee is asking interested Clubs to purchase orange socks to wear on the Orange Sock Weekend, Saturday May 14 and Sunday May 15 and will draw on its own resources to ensure significant publicity is generated for this event.

Socks will be sold for $10 each, with all profits going to the Will Murray Trust Fund.
